Tanned Pigskin Leather: Our commitment to excellence begins with sourcing premium tanned pigskin leather, renowned for its supple texture and rich colors. The tanning process we employ enhances the leather's durability, making it resilient against wear and tear over the years. Our skilled artisans skillfully work with the leather, striving to minimize defects and imperfections in the pieces used for our equipales. The end result is a luxurious, comfortable seating surface that exudes warmth and invites relaxation.

Cedar Wood: The second cornerstone of our equipales is the use of premium cedar wood, which not only provides a stunning aesthetic but also delivers remarkable strength and sturdiness. HANDMADE CRAFTSMANSHIP

The history of equipale furniture dates back to pre-Hispanic times, making it an integral part of Mexican culture and heritage. It reflects the blending of indigenous craftsmanship with Spanish influence during the colonial period. At Allende Co., we are deeply honored to showcase the remarkable work of our artisans who pour their heart and soul into crafting our exquisite equipales. Each piece is not only a product of impeccable craftsmanship but also a celebration of our history.

Our artisans handpick premium tanned pigskin leather and seasoned cedar wood, ensuring that only the best components are used for each creation. They cut and shape the cedar wood, bringing life to the sturdy framework of the furniture. With their deft hands, they fashion the wooden elements into the distinctive curves and contours that define the signature look of our equipales.

After the woodwork is completed, the leather is woven around the wooden frame, and then upholstered to create the seat and backrest. The weaving process requires skill and precision to achieve a uniform and attractive pattern, and once the weaving is complete the equipal is ready to be dyed. Traditional equipales are often dyed in rich earth tones like brown, terracotta, or red, but our artisans' creativity knows no bounds, and they infuse boundless magic into the equipales they craft.
